2026 The 4th International Symposium on
Children and Youth Health and Well-Being
Background: The policies of Thai government for children and adolescents are focusing on holistic development, protection from abuse, and rights-based care, anchored by the Child Protection Act B.E. 2546 (2003) and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Key areas include prohibiting all physical punishment, promoting early childhood development, combating child labor and trafficking, and strengthening mental health services. However, the report of progression and outcomes are not clearly announced.
Globally, 3 in 4 children aged 1–14 years experience physical or mental abuse at least once a month (UNICEF cited in TIJ, 2024). Issues such as child abuse, trafficking, school bullying, and mental health problems—especially suicide—remain significant and continue to rise worldwide, including in Thai society.
As children and youth are the future of every nation, their health and social determinants of health are critical global concerns. Strengthening national policies and aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being) is essential.
This interdisciplinary conference aims to serve as a platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to collaborate, share knowledge, and develop effective strategies to address these challenges.
Ultimately, the goal is to raise awareness and encourage healthcare professionals, educators, and social workers to prioritize the well-being of children and youth.
Objectives
To organize platform for research, academic sharing and discussion among participants
To facilitate interdisciplinary networking in promoting health and well-being of children and youth
To strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation in preventing drug abuse, vaping, cybercrime, school bullying, pornography, all forms of violence, and gambling
